First off, a reminder that Chuck-E-Cheese Day will be postponed :) More details will be published when available (And if you have suggestions to a date, please let me know)
This past Sunday in Promiseland we talked about how God can give us joy, even when we mess up! Our bible story was when Jesus restored Peter, and we want to say thanks to Brad C and Mike B for helping us with our story.
Next month in Promiseland we will be talking about Patience. Our verse for the month is found in Psalsms 27:14.
I hope you all have a blessed week!

Update
We will be postponing Chuck-E-Cheese day, because of the amount of practices, etc on that Saturday. If you could help by picking some dates that are good that would be helpful :)

Hello! I apologize for the slight delay in this week's posting! We have raised over 30 dollars towards helping the kids in Mexico so far, and our kids are doing a great job!
Chuck E Cheese Day is still scheduled for May 3. However, I have been told that schedules are not looking good for that day. If you would like me to reschedule, I can. Please email me at jmartin@gofirst.org if you have any thoughts on this.
Finally, for those of you who are wondering, I got some some wonderful news at the doctors yesterday. I will need surgery still, but not the same type, nor as severe of surgery. Basically, I have been really blessed in this situation, and I am so grateful for it :)

Good Morning and a good monday to you! I hope that this update finds you all doing well. I have a few things to update you on:
Choir- Bobbi Miller is looking for kids to sing in the choir. Contact her if your interested.
Mexico Trip- We are collecting toothbrushes and small toys, and also donations for the Mexico trip. All donations will go towards more toothbrushes and toys, to bless the kids in Mexico.
Chuck-E-Cheese Day- Will Be May 3. There is NO cost, however any donations made will go towards the mexico project. Again, there is no cost! We invite you and your promiseland age child to come out and enjoy this day full of food, fun, and fellowship.
I think that is all of my update for this week.
Blessings,
Miss Jess

Good Morning!
Wasn't rescue day awesome! Big props to Mrs Jenny & Mrs Nikki on a job well done!
May 4 is CHUCK E CHEEZE DAY HERE AGAIN! Watch your bulletin this week for more info!
Also, if you want a family virtue pack, please see Miss Jess. We only have 1 commitment so far, and need at least 4 more to place an order at the 10 dollar rate!
And what are our kids learning about in Promiseland this month?
This month's theme is Joy, which is defined for us as finding a way to be happy even when things don't go your way. That's a huge theme for EVERYONE to learn, to be content in what God gives us. Our verse for the month is "Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again, Rejoice! (Phil 4:4 NIV). Now here's a cool thing to do when your going over the verse for the month, when you say rejoice, spin in a circle! That's a sure fire way to be happy!
Our bottom line for this past week was "When things seem bad, remember what Jesus said."
And for this coming week it will be "Whenever you get down, remember God has big plans"
Finally, can I brag on our kids for a minute?
At rescue day we had a few children who do not attend this church on a regular basis, and the First Church kids that were here did an AWESOME job with them. They were loving and kind and good hosts. So Mom's and Dad's, be proud of your kids! They really are awesome!
Have a blessed week!
